Uttarkashi bus accident: PM Narendra Modi announces ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced gratifiable and 2,000 rupees National Aid Fund of the Prime Minister for relatives of those killed in the bus accident for Uttarkashi. The prime minister also announced Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured. My prayers and solidarity with those who lost loved ones in the unfortunate bus crash PMO India tweeted. The injured will soon be terminated, the PM said.
At least 22 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh died when their bus fell into the Bhagirathi River near Nalupani yesterday returning from Gangotri sanctuary in the Himalayas. The misfortune occurred about 18 hours, while the bus dropped 300 meters from the road, Uttarkashi judicial district, Ashish Shrivastava, quoted by PTI. The rescue efforts of the SDR Forum, the ITBP and police personnel under the supervision of senior officials continue in the dark. There were about 29 pilgrims, mostly from Indore, on the bus at the time of the accident, he said. Following the bus accident, Railroad Minister Suresh Prabhu instructed authorities to organise a special train bogie to bring the bodies to Madhya Pradesh at the request of Chief Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Chouhan announced yesterday an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each of the relatives of those killed in the Uttarkashi bus crash.
Earlier, Uttarakhand’s chief minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 1 lakh each relative of the dead and Rs. 50,000 to the injured in the accident.
